Anugerah Kualiti Naib Canselor (AKNC) or the Vice Chancellor's Quality Award was initially presented as the UiTM Quality Award. It was introduced in 1996 for the purpose of recognizing quality activities and innovations and for promoting of best practices. This effort is in line with the government’s aspiration to foster a creative and innovative culture among the public sector agencies, including UiTM. In general, this award is a tribute to each centre (PTJ or Pusat Tanggungjawab) for their efforts in keeping the quality culture alive and for maintaining the university’s quality management system (QMS).
All centres are highly encouraged to participate in this prestigious competition. The number of contested awards varies from year to year depending on the planned focus and approach. A total of eight (8) categories are contested for the prestigious award, namely Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer Focus, Measurement, Analysis & Knowledge Management, Human Resource Development, Process Management, Innovation and Results.
