As an effort to curb plagiarism in UiTM, InQKA is currently organising the turnitin workshop this month at several faculties beginning 9 January 2013. The workshops are conducted by the staff of Apex Knowledge Sdn Bhd; the company marketing the programme in this region. Attendance was encouraging at all sessions and the feedback received are favourable - along the line of "helpful", "useful", "impressive" and "user-friendly". Five faculties have conducted the workshop, namely, Music, Computer Science and Mathematics, Architecture, Planning and Surveying, Academy of Language Studies and Electrical Engineering faculties. Four other faculties – Administration and Policy Studies, Business Management, Mechanical Engineering and Pharmacy – will organise the turnitin workshop for their academic staff in February 2013.
It is hoped that the 13 other faculties in UiTM Shah Alam will organise the workshop for their staff as an effort to curb plagiarism in UiTM and together make this university a quality institution of higher learning.
