A briefing for InQKA External Reviewers was recently held at the Seminar Hall, Office International Affairs (OIA) UiTM Selangor on 19 February 2016.

The briefing is an annual event for InQKA

and it is usually held to kick-start the External Review cycle with gusto. The session is for imparting the aims, objectives and what the exercise aspires to achieve for a more guided and controlled External Review (ER).  2016 is the third cycle of ER since its inception in 2010.

The reviewers who have agreed to come on board and assist InQKA with this noble task are those who have undergone the External Review Training (ERT).  They are from UiTM faculties and campuses from all over the country, representing a vast background of expertise.  A few loyal reviewers from the first batch of training were also present as well as new faces that will compose a well-balanced team.

Attendees were also fortunate to listen to a sharing session by Associate Professor Dr. Haji Mohamad Abdullah Hemdi, Dean of Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management UiTM, who was invited to share his knowledge and experience as an MQA Auditor and a panel member of the Work- Based Learning(WBL).  Dr Don, as he is popularly known, has imparted valuable tips on conducting audits to the attendees.

The External Review Cycle 3 commences on the 29th February 2016 with two campuses undergoing the review concurrently – UiTM Pulau Pinang and UiTM Kedah.  A team of six reviewers per RC will be deployed to the respective RCs.  This cycle will also implement a more systematic approach where the head of the team will coordinate and manage the whole review process, conducting the opening and exit meeting, while a Report Coordinator, appointed from among the team, will be responsible for the draft report and ensure that it is completed within the stipulated time.

The one-day briefing closed with a Q&A session with the AVC of InQKA, Head of Reviews and Audits and Head of Achievement and Best Practices.
