Due to the maturity of all QMS in UiTM, the top management made a strategic decision in 2010 to remove the scaffolding on the QMS of all faculties and campuses in the likes of the ISO9001 external certification.  This is not only a savings to the university, but provides a further challenge to the respective Chief Quality Officer (i.e Deans and Rectors) to ensure that their respective organization (PTJ) continually improve, remain strong and be sustainable.  

The QMS is now enhanced by the establishment of a review process, a Self Review by the PTJ itself and a peer review (InQKA External Review) conducted by InQKA. The criteria for these reviews are the Code of Practice for Institutional Audits (COPIA) and Code of Practice for Programme Accreditation (COPPA) requirements from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

The self review exercise is an important activity in the quality assurance process in UiTM.  It draws upon all reviews in the system, including a review of the QMS.  It enables the PTJ to reflect on its own priorities and activities and thereby assure itself as well as its stakeholders that policies, systems and processes for the development, maintenance and enhancement of quality are functioning effectively.  Areas of strength and excellence as well as areas in need of focused attention for improvement can be identified through the self reviews.  An output of the self review would include recommendations for improvements or enhancements to policies, processes, programmes, services, facilities, and human resources.  Findings of the Self Review are recorded in the Self Review Report (SRR) of the PTJ which provides a foundation for the InQKA External Review.  The review by InQKA validates the self review findings and conclusions and ultimately evaluates the robustness of the PTJ’s quality assurance function.
